A visit from some Federal cabinet ministers, landfill decisions on Haida Gwaii and a standoff in Smithers, some of our reviews of the daily items of note from the city's media options.

Crime Report: Prince Rupert RCMP warn of fake credit cards being used in town-- The Northern View's website is rather light on Monday, featuring only the weekly policing report from the RCMP (see article here)

Federal Ministers visit the Northwest -- A pair of Conservative government cabinet ministers are on a tour of the Northwest examining port infrastructure as well as to make an announcement regarding Prince Rupert's airport (see article here)

BC Provides funding for addiction treatment and recovery -- BC Health Minister Kevin Falcon announced funding of 500,000 to a Prince George based Addiction treatment centre. The one time funding is designated towards renovations to the Baldy Hughes Centre (see article here)

RDSQC accepts landfill cover bid-- From Haida Gwaii some background on regional district's latest happenings, including the awarding of a contract worth over 277 thousand dollars to Western Tank and Lining of Richmond BC, they will be installing a cover at the land fill site north of Port Clements in August  (see article here)
