City Council scoresheet for April 12, 2010

The Wednesday, April 14 edition of the Daily News featured their regular scorecard on city council issues, this one featuring the deliberations and votes from selected items of the April 12 session of council. .

This weeks feature appeared on page three of the Wednesday edition.

Question One:  The owner of the commercial property that houses Movie Gallery at 101 First Avenue East, requested a development permit to convert a portion of the second floor into an apartment.

Question Three: Council adopted the 2010 Five Year Financial Plan, Fees and Charges Amendment and Bylaw and 2010 City of Prince Rupert Property Tax Bylaw Reports submitted by Chief Financial Officer, Dan Rodin Public consideration for the reports scheduled for April 26, during the regularly scheduled council meeting.

Question Four: Council selected Appendix A2 from the Chief Financial Officer's 2010 Property Tax Levy Adjustment. Under Appendix A2 - "tax Shift" Methodology, Residential tax will be set at 9.12931 and Business at 26.66596, shifting a portion of the property tax burden from Class Six (6) Businesss Class One (1) Residential.
