A railroad that knows its customers

Germany's national railway certainly has the pulse of its clientele, especially the beer swigging travelling soccer fans of Bayer Leverkusen.

A special fan's train of fans set off for a road game on Saturday taking the Leverkusen fans off to Hamburg for a match in the German Cup.

Things were fine until horror of horrors, it was discovered that the beer tap aboard the train was not working, in order to make sure that their passengers would have the experience that they had expected, the train was halted in Wuppertal for 25 minutes as a replacement part was rushed to the station by taxi.

The repairs were quickly taken care of, as were the thirsty passengers who carried on along their way.

While the beer tap could be fixed, alas the Leverkusen team had a few problems of their own, losing to a second division team 1-0 and thus eliminated from further competition for the Cup.

It's said that the tears flowed as fast as the beer on the trip home! Gives a whole new meaning to the term "crying in their beer!"
