Canada steps up the promotion of its Pacific Ports

The Government of Canada is about to launch a comprehensive publicity campaign, designed to increase the awareness of the capabilities and advantages of the Ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert.

Stockwell Day, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway introduced the new campaign on Friday, outlining how the Government is approaching raising the profile of the two main ports of Canada's West coast.

Starting Monday, advertisements and on line website banners will be placed in marine and air shipping trade publications in the United States, Japan, Korea and China, all reflecting the marketing theme of “With Canada’s Pacific Gateway, everything gets there sooner than you think.”

The ads will appear over the next ten months in such publications as Journal of Commerce, Logistics Management, Air Cargo World, Payload Asia, China’s Foreign Trade and Maritime Press and will serve to highlight the transportation links from the West coast ports, the shortened time period for delivery and the reduced shipping time between Canada and Asia.
