Fairview Port courts Alaskan business for container Terminal

The prospect of Alaska industries using the Fairview Container port to ship their products to Asia is one which has potential, but for some Alaska industrial leaders the volume of product from our northern neighbours isn't high enough yet to justify the transportation links required to use the port.

From seafood products to lumber Alaskan officials are trying to find out how they may best use the Fairview port to get their products to market.

They recently had a tour of the facility and briefings from a number of Port and Terminal officials on what the Port of Prince Rupert may have to offer.

Alaska Public radio featured the findings of the delegations and the debate currently ongoing in Alaska with a background piece posted to the Alaska NPR web site.
