Scantily clad women try to save the caribou

Now this makes for a pretty interesting alliance, the models of Victoria’s Secret and the hulking Caribou of western Alberta, but if the ladies of the underwear have their way, not one dime of their industry will be spent with BC’s West Fraser Timber and their paper mill products from the Hinton area, a homeland of the Alberta caribou.

The Globe and mail reported today that the lingerie retailer issued its declaration of one with the caribou today, adding that they won’t purchase any Canadian paper products unless they come from areas recommended by the Forest Stewardship Council, an international group that runs a certification program for Canadian forests.

Victoria’s secret has over 3500 stores and a rather vibrant mail order service based out of Pittsburgh, with sales in excess of 9.7 billion dollars US last year. The catalogues are well known for their colourful pictures of fashionable young ladies wearing little in the way of night time clothing.

Needless to say we suspect there is no Caribou collection series in the catalogue, even though a nice warm caribou pelt might be a nice little feature to cuddle up in on a cold winter’s night.
