Rafe's recipe for disunity

While Stephane Dion basks in the afterglow of his Liberal leadership victory, and received his convention bounce to the top of the popularity polls this past week, he best should keep a finger to the wind.

A cold political breeze blows from Vancouver, as long time observer of all things political in British Columbia, Rafe Mair, wades into the debate over whether we are closer or further apart to a splintering of the national fabric.

Mair, who has long been outspoken on the demands of Quebec and the reactions of the remainder of Canada, has put together a "Rafe's Notes" of sorts on Liberalsm, Quebec and the art of appeasement. He suggests that with the newly minted leader destined for possibly greater things, then the steps will be in motion to see the national unity "wheels come off" and providing an inexorable drift to a national split-up.
