"Whether it will still be on the priority list after a long period of [re]negotiation, we're not sure"

And now a little hardball in Kitimat.

The not so subtle hints are being dropped now as the blow back builds from the BCUC decision over Alcan and BC Hydro's electricity sales plans. Alcan looking for a little love or at least a new deal on hydro is turning up the heat on the province and on Kitimat as they look for some ground to hold in the ongoing debate.

The major Canadian newspapers are full of stories of a thoughtful reconsideration of modernization plans, perhaps yet another arrangement on hydro power and a tale of a once close relationship apparently on the rocks. It all makes for some anxious times in the Aluminum City.
