RCMP make Terrace arrest of suspect in Kitimat stabbing death


A Sunday morning stabbing in Kitimat had Northwest RCMP on a manhunt yesterday, as they sought the whereabouts of thirty year old, Robert Purchase, who was witnessed as being at the scene of the stabbing.

Responding Kitimat RCMP officers discovered a 29 year old male, laying in a driveway on Angle Street, he was transported to Kitimat hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As part of their search for Purchase, they had set up roadblocks out of the city and had urged residents not to approach him and to contact the city's 911 system if they spotted him.

As the day moved on he eventually was located and taken into custody in Terrace, while police were conducting their search, Forensic ID officers from Terrace and major crimes officers from Prince George had move into Kitimat to investigate the death.
