The City divvies up the community grant cash, a review of the recent changes at the NWCC board and the Prince Rupert RCMP make an arrest regarding the break and enter files, some of the items of note from our Tuesday review of the news.

City of Prince Rupert approves grant requests-- The City makes its final decisions on how to divide 1,540,600 dollars in its community enhancement grant program for 2011 (see article here)

Prince Rupert woman named new chair of NWCC board-- As we outlined on the blog last week, Rhoda Witherly has been named as the chair of the North West Community College board, the weekly also outlines that former Mayor Herb Pond will take a seat on the board as the Prince Rupert representative on the board (see article here)

City continuing to work out the details of revitalization bylaw-- The City gives third reading but no final approval yet to a bylaw to provide tax exemptions on increased property assessments resulting if improvements were made to those properties (see article here)

Port numbers rise in November-- The Prince Rupert Port Authority handled more cargo last month, up 3,000 containers handled from the numbers of October. (see article here)
