Fake Fives and Trumped up Tens making the rounds of the city

If you’re the type who likes to tip generously, best to look at your bills before providing the gratuity this weekend. Because, you just never know you may be unwittingly passing along some funny money.

TV7 reports on their website that the RCMP is advising the public that counterfeit five and ten dollar bills have been circulated in the city over the last few days. With both local businesses and residents calling in with reports of suspicious looking bills.

The Bank of Canada has some helpful hints for Canadians to look for to make sure that their tender is of the legal variety. So grab your bills and see if your fives and your tens, meet the guidelines or if somebody’s printing press has been running overtime now to your regret…
