CFTK TV 7 News is reporting that Councillor Tony Briglio has been formally charged with assault, stemming from an incident at this summer's Seafest beer gardens at the Civic Centre.
His first appearance in Prince Rupert court is scheduled for January 7th.

A Prince Rupert City Councillor is to appear in court next month, in connection with a brawl at this year's Seafest.
Tony Briglio has been formally charged with assault, and is to make his first formal court appearance January 7th.
On June 10th, a Seafest volunteer claims he was kicked and bitten, as he attempted to remove Briglio from the Seafest beer gardens at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
Briglio is currently in his second term as a city councillor and also chairs the Northwest Regional Hospital District.
His first appearance in Prince Rupert court is scheduled for January 7th.
