Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
With a days worth of occasional Live Earth viewing under our belt, we decided to go with the home field advantage for the music Club tonight.
While we understand the gravitas of The Police as a closing act for the New York show and the fact that Sting has issued earnest pleas to save the world some twenty years on now, we can't help but think that the organizers missed it with the Big Finish band.
While it was nice to see the British invasion reassembled on the Giants stadium stage in the closing hours, short of finding Bruce Springsteen at centre stage as the final half hour kicked off, the final act of the night should have been the hometown heroes Bon Jovi.
Al Gore should have pulled a few strings on that one. After all, Jon even worked for his election campaign if memory serves correct.
As it was, they were given the late afternoon early evening slot and rocked the place out with a set of some new stuff and some of the more memorable ones of their early days. And judging by the reaction of the crowd they were the act everyone was waiting for.
The big hit of their short stay was what has become the band's anthem, Wanted Dead or Alive.
So while we try to figure out if the world is a better place or not after a 29 hour rock show, here's some early Bon Jovi, long hair, youthful features and all for your Saturday night entertainment.
