Global BC had a story on their news tonight about the Federal Government's bid to keep control over names and images associated with the 2010 Olympics.
If you're looking for gainful employment there's bound to be a place for you in the word police, a top notch batch of bureaucrats who will scour the nation looking for such offending words as Olympic, medals, gold, silver, bronze and even winter.
The legislation was introduced back in March with strict guidelines as to what we can, or can't say and show when it comes to the five rings and the winter circus. Known as Bill C-47, it received Royal Assent back in June and now stands ready to protect those authorized companies that plan on spending big dollars to print the tee shirts, show the messages and make some money off of the 2010 games.
Now while the government has banned winter (no doubt to the delight of a grateful nation), there's no sight of the word taxes on the list yet...
Something which always seem to go higher, faster... ooops better not say anymore!
