The first night of release for The Simpson's Movie on Friday brought in a fair return for Matt Groenings big screen epic.
Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood Daily reported Saturday that the fables of Homer and the gang collected some 30 million dollars on Friday alone, with more expected to roll in on Saturday and Sunday.
30 million dollars is apparently what the studio had expected to bring in as a total take for the weekend, so they're fairly well ahead of the game, even without the mighty Prince Rupert market.
.
A market which of course will become major financial players once the movie eventually travels down highway 16.
