An idea from Quebec that should soon catch on

Beware ye talkers and drivers, the days of chatting away on your cell phones while driving the highways and byways of the nation may be coming to an end. As a matter of fact, soon if you drive and talk on your hand held cellular phone in Quebec you'll find yourself short in the wallet.

The Quebec government is about to ban the use of hand held phones while operating a vehicle. The move which will also see tougher restrictions on new drivers and photo radar in Quebec is designed to try and reduce the increasing amount of accidents and carnage on the roads there.

The idea of a cell phone ban has been discussed in many Canadian provinces and now that a large province such as Quebec has taken the first step, it is probably only a matter of time before the rest of Canada tries to make the roads a little safer for the rest of us who don't talk and drive...
