Flu clinics for seniors continue until Thursday

Well, the spelling may not be great at Northern Health, nor their proofreading it seems (see this notice on the NH website), but we get their drift.

The annual flu shot is now available for Seniors (65 and over) with a three day clinic that wraps up on Thursday.

Tuesday was day one of the clinic and the location in the upper level of the Rupert Square was doing a steady business as Prince Rupert's seniors were quick to take advantage of the annual vaccination. The hours of operation will be from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

This clinic is not to be confused with an upcoming session for the H1N1 vaccination sessions, those shots will not be available until November (though there is the thought by some that the schedule should be moved up), a session which will be made available to the general public we imagine.

As for the regular flu shot for those that are under 65, the latest inclination of Canada's health officials is to wait until the new year before making that inoculation session available for the remainder of us.

If you have any questions about the flu shot programs you can contact Northern Health at For more information call 8-1-1 or 250-622-6380.
