If the skies are co-operative, there should be a light show above the Northwest this weekend.
Tonight and through the weekend marks the best possible viewing time for the Perseid Meteor shower, that annual passing of the earth's atmosphere through the wandering space rocks way out there.
This year however, it may not be the best viewing available as the Moon, having just gone through it's full phase will shine it's light over the night sky, making it harder to pick out the shooting stars and tumbling space rocks (unless one of course lands in your neighborhood, which of course could make you famous some forty years later).
It's always a hit and miss proposition in Podunk when it comes to nature's light shows, more often than not the big day arrives and we're socked in with fog, drowning in rain, or just straining our eyes through layers of cloud.
And as if on cue to torment us, the Weather Network doesn't offer up the most promising of forecasts.
If you feel like a drive, Prince George has big plans for weekend, their forecast offers up better conditions by Saturday night.
