The terror scare out of England yesterday has led to more than one burst of hyperbole in the media, as networks, websites and such battle each other to have the hook that will keep the audience attached to their service.
Add to that mix, the never ending stream of politicians that appeared on TV yesterday to make sure they had their moment to speak out, look grave and offer courage and it was an all out, blitz of media activity. Seemingly every person possible had been interviewed by midnight, with every possible aspect of the story covered.
But by far the strangest headline I've seen thus far came from the CBC website, which provided the following story on the terror plot with an unusual angle.
Bank of England releases names of bomb plot suspects

Now money, that in itself is an interesting take on the situation, but the Bank of England?
Uh, I guess each government department must pull together in times of crisis, but shouldn't the naming of the names and such belong to a law enforcement agency?
Oh, lets say Scotland Yard or MI-5 (though nobody is supposed to know who they are I guess)!
Reading the headline you would get the impression that the Bank of England is the lead investigator, holding the point on scuttling terrorists where it hurts them the most, their bank accounts.
I'm not too sure that the English people will sleep well at nights thinking that it's the bankers that are going to save the Kingdom.
