While she probably wasn’t thinking of hubby Bill while she put Donald Rumsfeld on the spit, he probably appreciated his wife’s efforts in reminding the Republicans of their past interrogations of his administration.
Will Rummy squirm, Will Rummy sweat? (see complete video above) In the end it didn’t seem like it was a safe bet.
Madam Clinton called for Rumsfeld to quit, he politely declined that option in his strange folksy little way. And everyone returned to their neutral corners.
It's an election year for the Senator and the war is quick becoming the main issue of the House and Senate campaigns. More than one career seems to be in trouble over the happenings in Iraq and Afghanistan, so one has to take all the outrage and calls for resignations with that bit of theatre in mind.
Regardless, it was interesting to see live on TV, the give and take between some big guns in the American political orbit.
