Last nights fire on Hays Cove circle is now being investigated by both the RCMP and the Fire Department. The blaze which broke out around 9:45 was quickly put out by the Prince Rupert Fire Department, but the duplex involved suffered some serious damage.

Last night, Prince Rupert RCMP and the Prince Rupert Fire Department were called to a house fire on the 500 block of Hays Cove Circle at 9:45 p.m.
The fire crews arrived to find the two story building engulfed in flames.
Additional firefighters were called in to assist and the fire was put out by 10:14 p. m.
The house was under construction and unoccupied at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Blown-out windows and a collapsed roof could be seen from the roadside. Damage to the building was estimated at $60,000. Police believe the fire was started deliberately and it is currently being investigated by both the RCMP and Fire Department.
