CityWest offers up credit over recent troubles


Those annoying cel phone outages that took place between June 11 and 16 haven't been forgotten by CityWest, as the city's communications provider is offering up a small stiped in apology of sorts for the troubles.

CityWest received compensation from their partner in the cellular world Northwestel, which had a number of problems befall their fibre optic cables during that period of time, they are in turn putting some of that money into the hands of their customers who were inconvenienced in that troublesome period in June .

Prince Rupert residents who have cel phones with CityWest can expect a ten dollar customer credit account for each cel phone on their account, as well CityWest has chosen delay a rate increase on certain cellular features that was planned to take effect on Canada Day, the increases to an unlimited cell calling plan and voicemail and call display bundle will now be held back until September 1.

Not all of CityWest's customers will be happy however, as the communications company is pushing forward with planned increases for Rate Changes on Select Cable and Digital Cable offerings.
