However there was action in the league this Saturday, with a light CIHL schedule, with only two games scheduled over the Thanksgiving Day weekend.
The River Kings were host to the Kitimat Ice Demons, with the River Kings easily handling the Ice Demons 7 -0 .
In the only other match this weekend, the Smithers Steelheads made quick work of the Hazelton Wolverines, picking up their second win of the season so far with a 6-3 victory.
Prior to Saturday night's action, CFTK TV 7 provided this preview of the CIHL schedule for Saturday.
There was an off ice development for the Rampage this week, as the CIHL cleared up a confusing situation regarding sanctions imposed on the Prince Rupert squad.
Originally it had been reported that the Rampage had played an ineligible player in last weekends game in Kitimat, instead the Rampage were sanctioned for not having taken care of the proper paperwork required to ensure that their roster players and coaching staff are properly carded with the BCAHA.
The sanctions question was part of a larger issue for the league which sanctioned three teams for infractions during last weeks games (see previous article here)
