It's not unusual for Alaska to have a few earthquakes from time to time, it is after all sitting upon a rather active fault line area.
But, even by Alaskan standards today seems like a rather active day in the world of shifting tectonic plates....
The USGS website, which normally tracks earthquakes worldwide, seems like more of an Alaska earthquake directory as it has recorded over 100 temblors for the last 24 hours, including a 6.3 shaker at 9:18 pm Tuesday night.
The State is one of the more active zones on the Ring of Fire and today seems to be a particularly active day for it!
