The housing development planned for the land (in the picture left) just off of 11th Avenue East has many in town excited about the potential for the economy and the sign of progress that the proponents claim it provides.
However, it would seem that there are a few people that aren't particularly excited about the idea. The sign (on the right) was discovered a few days ago (the picture was taken Sunday morning), it referenced back to the old Joni Mitchell standard about "Paving paradise and putting up a housing development. So perhaps the protest generation is alive and well and just waiting for a cause.
It highlights some of the concern over the development that recently was outlined in the Daily News as providing space for 16 homes in the 300,000 dollar range.
Interestingly enough, when passing by the same site later on Sunday evening, the sign had disappeared. It will be worth watching to see if the opposition to the project goes the same way.

Update: March 19, Noon, a new sign has appeared across from the housing development site, bigger in size but with much the same message.
