"Let them say I'm crazy. I believe in this product, and it's gonna sell!" -Nino Selimaj
Ok Nino, let's get ahead of the crowd here, "you're crazy"!
Mr. Selimaj, owner of six New York city eateries, has created what is by far the world's most expensive pizza. A slice of pie that bests the last pizza to ring in a hefty bill by 807 dollars.
Now on the menu at Nino's Bellisima, is the Luxry pizza, four slices of astronomically priced fixin's guaranteed to leave your stomach ful, but your wallet empty. Nino's creation will set you back 1,000 dollars flat, which works out to 250 dollars per slice.
The record-priced pie won't be baked, but will be topped with creme fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of thinly sliced Maine lobster tail, salmon roe, and a little bit of spice with wasabi.
Nino, figures that his pizza will be the next big thing with the Wall Street crowd, those high living traders anxious to live the life of excess.
Of course in the restaurant business, timing is everything and well for Nino things aren't looking so good. Wall Street is on a bit of a losing skid these last few weeks, with the stock market rising and falling in a roller coaster fashion.
And everyone knows not to get on a roller coaster with a full stomach.
