The Thursday March 11 edition of the Daily News featured their regular scorecard on city council issues, this one featuring the deliberations and votes from selected items of the March 8 session of council.
.
This weeks feature appeared on page three of the Wednesday edition.
Question One: Council put on hold the erection of a Highway of Tears sign, after hearing the cost would be $10,000. Council has received $500 each from Metlakatla and the Skeena Queen Charlotte Regional District toward the $10,000 cost of the sign, but council is hoping more partners will come forward to help finance the project and plans to approach surrounding communities at the next Community to Community forum being held at the end of March. It was also suggested that perhaps the money could be better spent on an education program through television or radio advertising that was ongoing.
