He may be having problems convincing British Columbians of the merits of his carbon tax, but when it comes to high profile politicians, Gordon Campbell's controversial tax is getting thumbs up all around.
Earlier in last year it was Arnold Schwarzenegger who was praising the Premier's dedication to a more environmentally sensitive world.
.
Now it's former President Bill Clinton who finds much to admire in the Premier's plan to make British Columbia more carbon friendly in the years to come.
Clinton was appearing at a Business function in Vancouver where he offered his support to the Campbell plan in front of 750 guests attending the discussion session that was designed to foster more social consciousness among the business class.
Clinton acknowledged the troubles the tax have caused for Campbell thus far admitting that the Premier has, "taken some heat for his progressive position against climate change." He went on to call the program one which "will be the biggest economic generator you can embrace."
While he was effusive in his comments, he hasn't apparently chatted with the average guy or gal on the street, many of whom have many kind words about the carbon tax.
Perhaps the Premier can call on his friends to return to BC in April and lend a hand in selling the message to voters who will be offering up their own endorsements in May in the BC election.
With Arnie and Bill on board, it may be time to bring out the Big Gun in the environmental debate, perhaps a call to Al Gore might help to sell the plan to a recalcitrant public. He may provide his final seal of approval on the Carbon Tax for the embattled would be Greenish Premier.
