Governor Palin, keeper of the crypt or Queen of all media?

Fresh from her successful (for NBC anyways) weekend appearance on Saturday Night Live, Governor Sarah Palin jumps from your television set to your local news stand.

And while she may not find success in the Vice-Presidential sweepstakes in two weeks time, should the governor of Alaska be inclined, the folks at Tales from the Crypt seem to have figured out an alternate job for the Maverick fighter of Alaska.
.
It seems that the Governor's days as Mayor of Wasilla caught the eye of the publishers of the Crypt series, especially after they learned of her quest to ban books at the local library back in the day. As it turns out the magazine, which was a staple of the news stands through the decades has had a Renaissance of late.
.
A Far cry from the once upon a time days that forced the publication into the dungeon by a Senate committee into Censorship back in the fifties, that fun loving era that brought us the Cold War and the McCarthy hearings.

Considering all the recent rumination by Republicans (and their VP candidate) about who is a "real American" and Pro-American or whether or not there should be an investigation by the media into the Anti American ideas of the liberal lefties, it probably is a timely decision to feature the Governor as the cover girl for the latest Tales of the Crypt magazine, due out on Wednesday.

On the cover of the new edition, the Governor, wielding a hockey stick tackles three of the toughest ghouls that the Crypt Masters could throw at her. No word on if the ghouls were named Biden, Pelosi and Frank...

The New York Daily News features a collection of political artwork done up in comic book form, featuring both John McCain and Barack Obama in a number of frame by frame displays, leaving no page unturned it seems in the quest for one more vote.

One wonders if its too late to rewrite the voting act to let the 13-18 crowd have a say, they might be the last hope for the McCain/Palin ticket based on cover subjects, that is after they've finished reading their campaign literature of course!
