Heading into the homestretch (Week Five)

As the final week of campaigning dawns, the polls tighten a bit, with the Conservatives still in the lead but not making much headway towards that cherished Majority government number.

The Liberals cast an anxious eye at the NDP who if they can refrain from having any more candidates removed from the contest may steal away the second spot from the Liberal machine.

Elizabeth May fresh off her debate debut will keep the push on to try and gain an actual MP for Parliament, while the Bloc's Gilles Duceppe having recovered from some early week stumbles, seeks to prove to be the spoiler for Liberal and Conservative ambitions in Quebec.

As the final week moves forward we'll track the final moves from each of the parties as they seek the momentum for next Tuesday's election.
