Dressing for success (but only for those Real Americans)

The big winner during this years election campaign in the USA might be the sales clerks at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and other high profile retailers, all charged with that most important of duties to the nation, that of dressing the candidate.

The Real Americans (TM) of the Republican Party have footed the bill for that Real American ™ candidate to the tune of 150,000 dollars in September, all so she could pick up a few things to wear along that dusty campaign trail.

Reports have it that the first dude of Alaska, also benefited with some new duds for those consort appearances he has made as the pair travel through those pockets of Real America ™ that appreciates good fashion with their political stump speeches.

As that well known fashion consultant Fernando might say, they look Marvelous….

The Republicans at least have kept to their theme of Country First by shopping at those high end American retailers, doing their best to keep the struggling American retail economy afloat one outfit at a time.

Red seems to be the underlying theme of the shopping spree, the chosen colour of the VP’s shopping sprees, the apparent power colour of the battleground states.
.
Red, hmmmm, hey isn’t that colour normally associated with er, Communists….. Best to add some blue there just to add some balance don’t you think?

And this after Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin have become all excited about using the word socialism….

Whatever mixed messages are they sending there?
