Google is branching out, no longer just the search engine of all search engines, it has been busy working on ways of becoming your one stop gateway to the world wide web.
Now if you'll take their advice, they'll even tell you what neighbourhoods to stay out of while you wander through that world wide web.
Google has launched a service designed to keep you and your computer from visiting those bad, bad sites that might lead you down the road of computer ruin.
The on screen warnings pop up if you are searching out sites that may provide spy-ware or malicious codes. A pop up will appear telling you that Google recommends you not go down that path, but if you wish they shan't stop you from tempting the fates of the computer Gods.
Of course net observors will be watching Google carefully, just to be sure that they don't use their good intentions for evil purposes eh, surely it would be a nasty search engine provider that scared you away from another competing service!
In the past few years there have been some grumblings around the internet about the Google empire's plans for net domination, so no doubt they'll have more than a few eyes and filters keeping them on the straight and narrow.
For now though, they're like that good buddy of yours, always willing to offer you the advice that perhaps you have had one too many, or should think twice about doing something that just may not be in your best interests.
They're no doubt hoping that later on you'll remember that you owe them one!
