When it comes to coffee, moderation is not your best approach

If a recent study is any indication, coffee drinkers are better off guzzling the brewed beans by the gallon, rather than drinking a mere cup or two a day.

According to a study in the September issue of Epidemiology, people who drink only an occasional cup of coffee may be at a higher risk of of hearth attack than heavy drinkers.

The statistics are rather startling and should either scare a number of us off the ground beverage for good, or send us off into a caffeine binge for our own safety.

Risk of heart attack rose 60 per cent in moderate coffee drinkers, defined as those who typically drink two or three cups a day.

The risk quadrupled for light coffee drinkers, who drink one cup or less than a cup per day.

The latest survey is just the latest in conflicting reports about the merits or lack there of for the main sustenance of many a Canadian.

Just remember that it’s good to the last drop as long as you’ve consumed many drops!

Geez, I wonder if the same principle holds for that other Canadian vice, smoking?
