This weeks feature appeared on page three of the Thursday edition, only Councillor Thorkelson was absent from the proceedings.
Question One: That council receive the financial report from the Chief Financial Officer, Dan Rodin, from the Finance Department for July 2009. Rodin reported it is anticipated that the City will meet its overall targeted budget of $9.7 million for the fiscal year.

Council Notes:
The Mayor met with representatives of SunWave Forest Products on September 2 and was told that the company is trying to encourage the sale of the property. If the property has not been sold by September 28th, it will become the city's property on September 29. So far the City of Prince Rupert is owed seven to eight million dollars in taxes, penalties and interest.
The City's new fire truck will be built in Wisconsin with finishing touches to be made in Calgary. The anticipated delivery date is in the spring, the multi purpose truck with a pumper, platform and extended arm, known as the Quint it will replace the Bronto Lift, which the city hopes to sell along with a 30 year old pumper truck that they currently own.
The Mayor outlined his to do list at the upcoming UBCM sessions taking place in Richmond from September 28 to October 2. The Tsimshian Access project, a number of health issues, increased court services and items of interest regarding BC Ferries are among his talking points for the meetings.
