Scorekeeper the numbers please

This is a tad out of order from our review of events, but since we just put together our City Council tracking pages, we figure we should give the Daily News its due for bringing back it's Council scorecard..

Motions from City council
Daily News
Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Well maybe it’s a case of a new city hall reporter bringing a renewed zeal for accountability, whatever the reason we once again find that fancy Council scorecard is resuscitated in our local paper. The feature has been more miss than hit of late, but the Daily News finally returned to tallying up the key votes of the night.

Well key might be an over statement as the three “questions” selected by the Daily News certainly aren’t of the earth shattering or turning the tide of adversity type, perhaps indicative of the dog days of civic governance that occur in August, as highlighted by a rather sharp drop in municipal government attendance for this session.

So with that, we continue with our reproduction of the Daily news scorecard for the council meetings, this version covers the city council meeting of August 18, 2008
