Rupert run cancelled Monday as Alaska Marine Highway suffers technical problems

BC Ferries has some company when it comes to technical issues causing sailing delays, as the Alaska Marine Highway's 46 year old vessel the Matanuska was forced back into port after suffering what were called control system problems.

The passengers of the abandoned sailing were held port in Sitka, transferring to the Malaspina for their southern journey on Tuesday.

The Malsapina has also added on an extra port stop in Prince Rupert for February 21st, designed to pick up participants in this weeks All Native Basketball Tournament.
