Rupert constables honoured by North District

The RCMP North District held its Awards Day on Tuesday, recognizing long serving members of the RCMP in the district, as well as providing commendations for special merit for a number past events in the region in the last year.

Deputy Commissioner Gary Bass was in Prince George to preside over the honours which included Certificates of Appreciation for two Prince Rupert based constables. Constable Steve Richards and Constable Steven Vince were honoured for their quick work at a Prince Rupert fire scene last year, as the two spotted smoke coming from the attic of a duplex in the city, they then roused four residents of the home from their sleep and got them to safety.

The Prince George website Opinion 250 had full details on all of those members and civilians in North District that were honoured on Tuesday.
