Thursday morning, the Prince Rupert Court House featured a brief appearance from the woman charged in the death of 42 year old Melvin Christison, as 41 year old Annalee Auckland made her first appearance in the court room of Judge Herman Seideman.
Auckland has been charged with the crime of manslaughter in the death of Christison, who was found by police who had responded to a call in the 600 block of Third Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. Auckland and Christison were known to each other and the Tuesday afternoon incident is not considered to have been a random act.
The appearance of the accused on Thursday was a short one, as Judge Seideman agreed to an adjournment until mid July, in order for Auckland to make arrangements for legal counsel.
The RCMP have not released any further details on the incident since their last press release of yesterday, the next appearance for Auckland in court will be on July 13 when she will apparently be present via video.
