A pricing flare from the east

While the price of gas went up at one local station today by three cents checking in at 1.20 this morning , Podunkians might want to be prepared for a rather large jump to come shortly.

A litre of gas now costs 1.26, a price spike which has the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives crying foul. The agency which tracks the machinations of the gas pricing market in Canada, suggests that at current world levels the price of gasoline in Prince George should only be pegged at 1.15, the Centre says that at 1.27 the oil companies are making 12 cents in clear profit per litre.

With Prince Rupert at the end of the gasoline highway, we no doubt can expect to be contributing to those extra oil company profits in a very short time. Meaning that Podunkians should keep one eye on the tote boards and the other on your gas gauge...
