If Ted Turner invites you to dinner, maybe take a pass!

"Most of the people will have died and the rest of us will be cannibals,"—Ted Turner fearing for the world after global warming…

"I've gotten a lot better, though. It's been a long time since anybody caught me saying something stupid."

Well that record has come to an end we guess. As the always quick to an opinion Ted Turner finds himself a tad controversial again.

Appearing on the Charlie Rose show last night making news on a number of items. The legendary mouth of the south expressed his beliefs that due to global warming, the world is heading down the slippery slope to cannibalism.

Turner predicted that within thirty to forty years the temperature will rise by eight degrees, crops will fail most of the world will have died off and if you’re one of the ones that remain you’ll be coveting your neighbour for more than his car or lawnmower...

While his commentary on global warming probably has some validity, especially when it comes to being more aware of the problem, his alarmist pronouncements and potential dining arrangements will most likely have him dismissed as a bit of a kook.

Also in the same show, Turner stepped into the war in Iraq debate and probably guaranteed that the mail room at the office will be working a bit of over time, suggesting that the insurgents in Iraq are patriots, a term that probably won’t resonate well in America.

The former CNN boss man also isn’t too impressed with his former investment, suggesting that the company has taken a wrong term in the deliver of news. Turner is no fan of the “attractive chickies” who deliver the light news, nor is he particularly willing to sit through an hour long opinion fest from Lou Dobbs.

Maybe CNN execs should give him a call and find out how to get back to the basics that once made CNN the flagship of live news and the 24 hour news cycle.

He’s apparently available for a working dinner date…. CNN however will have to supply the food.
