A welcome start to a new week, Gas Pump prices drop

It was a welcome surprise yesterday when both the local Husky and 7-11 seemed to engage in a small pricing skirmish, both gasoline retailers dropped their prices six cents to 1.04 on Monday morning. Setting off a chain of events for other local operations to follow.

Petro Can reduced their prices to 1.06 and then 1.04 by late Monday afternoon, Fast Trac Gas in the industrial park followed suit, while Chevron was the last to reduce their prices not surrendering their price point until late in the day.

While down significantly from last week, the price at the pump in Prince Rupert is still higher than most areas of the province, with Terrace still benefiting from a spirited battle at the pumps depending on where you purchase your fuel.
