Virginia Tech tragedy touches Northern BC

The Opinion 250 website has an interesting story on a connection between UNBC and the University of Virginia Tech.

UNBC President Don Cozetto, is a former student at the Virginia Tech campus, having attended the University from 1987-1990, graduating from the university's PhD from its Public Policy and Public Administration program.

Like many others world wide, he is having troubles reconciling himself with the events of yesterday. A horrible tragedy that goes against the grain of the quiet rural campus that he remembers from 17 years ago.

In support and respect for the families of those killed and injured in Virginia yesterday, UNBC like many other colleges and universities across the continent lowered their flags to half staff today. A sign of just how far reaching this tragedy has become.
