At the opposite end of the country, an opposite direction for taxes

While Podunkians contemplate the latest increase in property taxes from their civic government, they may cast a covetous eye across the land to Newfoundland and Labrador.

That province announced the largest personal income tax cut in Newfoundland history today, with savings ranging from 567 -911 dollars depending on income and family situation.

Spurred on by oil royalties and most likely motivated by an upcoming provincial election, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians will be putting money in their pockets this summer, about the same time as Prince Rupert residents dig a little deeper into theirs.

It's amazing what a looming election can do for ones financial perspective, not to mention a taxpayers personal bank account.
