CN is obviously quite bullish on its prospects with the Fairview Container project. So impressed with its potential, that a full year before the first container train will leave Prince Rupert for points east and south, CN suggests that the service will be sold out before the first container is off loaded next year.
The Daily News provided a story from the National Post which gives a pretty rosy picture of CN’s future along the Northern line to Rupert.

TORONTO-Canadian National Railway Co.’s proposed service out of Prince Rupert, B. C. will likely be “sold out” by the time the new intermodal facility under construction there opens late next year, chief executive Hunter Harrison said in an interview.
He said a sales team is now in Asia signing up shippers for the new service, which is expected to shave several days off the time needed to move goods to the main consumer markets of North America.
CNR plans to invest $30 million to develop the Prince Rupert port as an alternative to other Pacific gateways struggling to handle increasing trade with Asia. Ottawa and B. C., have each pledged $30 million to the project.
