As we count down the days to our municipal election, the eighteen candidates for Podunk’s city council are busy putting up their campaign signs (and just as fast the local hooligan class is taking them down). It would that some candidates seem to have more money than others (or an oversupply of signs from the last election), as some parts of town are clogged with sign farms at key areas, while other areas have nary a sign to be seen.
For a bit of sport we offer up some of the “messages” that the candidates have put on their signs, in their little ads in the Podunk Daily News classifieds or in their biographies.
See if you can match the candidate with the mission statement!
Some candidates have yet to get a sign out there or come up with a positioning statement, so the statements won’t number the same as the candidates available. By the way, since the signs seem to get toppled as quick as they get tacked up I may have missed one or two candidates messages, feel free to share the good news with us in the comments box.
Update: James Vassallo has withdrawn from the council race, leaving Podunk with 17 choices for the six council seats.
And now, it’s time for our feature presentation.
