On the hockey front, Friday night's 5-3 victory over the River Kings solidified the Rampage grasp on first place in the CIHL west, providing the home side faithful of 783 with another well played and entertaining game.
The victory also provided the Rampage with a two point lead over second place Kitimat and puts them four points ahead of Terrace in the division, with but three games remaining in the CIHL season.
The Rampage offense was paced by two goals from Chris Brlecic, with singles from Brett Stava, Trevor Clouthier and J. T. Ward. The closely contested game featured three lead changes before the Rampage took control of matters in the third.
The two teams were tied after one period, while Terrace took a 3-2 lead into the third before the Rampage launched the comeback added a few insurance markers, the final one an empty net goal to bring home the win.
Daniel Lorette claimed the win with 27 saves on 30 shots, while Spencer Krupop was tagged with the Terrace loss surrendering four of the five goals from the total of 29 fired on the Terrace net.
Periods one and two provided for a physical game, sometimes a little too physical, as 34 minutes in penalties were called on Friday night. The majority of time in the box given to Terrace who served 24 minutes on 8 infractions, while the Rampage were assessed 10 minutes of penalty time of five infractions.
For Terrace the weekend proved to be a costly one in the West Division standings, in addition to their Friday night defeat to the Rampage, the River Kings dropped a second road game of the weekend Saturday night in Kitimat losing to the Ice Demons 5-2.

Sunday the Rampage had a more leisurely skate in mind as they welcomed Rupertites to their annual skate with the Rampage session at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre arena. A large crowd of young and old took advantage of the free admission and joined in with players for the afternoon of fun on the ice, bringing with them a large number of donations of cash and canned food destined for the Salvation Army food bank.
The players will now turn their attention to the Christmas and New Years holiday before heading back to the rink and the remainder of the CIHL schedule, Prince Rupert's next game on the schedule is Saturday January 8th, when they take on the Kitimat Ice Demons in their final road game of the year.
January 15th and 16th will bring an end to the regular season of the CIHL as the Rampage play host to the Houston Luckies at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre, matches which will all set the stage for the playoff match ups.
