Winds set to pick up overnight


Environment Canada has once again issued a wind warning for the North Coast with southerly winds of 80 to 100 km expected overnight tonight. The warning provides notice of the potential for damaging winds in the affected areas of the North coast.

The latest of pacific fronts has approached Haida Gwaii through the evening, the intense front will bring wind and rains to the North coast in the overnight  period with the winds abating later into Thursday morning.

With the wind will come warm temperatures but wet conditions, with precipitation amounts to 35 to 45 mm through Thursday, the overnight low is expected to be 11 degrees which will remain steady through the day on Thursday.
