Making Mother Nature work for you

Now this little bit of advice will be of no use to us in Podunk, sadly (well ok, lets be honest here, maybe not sadly) our "snow" days and freeze days are few and far between. But having seen this from seanincognito, I felt I should give our neighbours in Manitoba (and everywhere else eastwards it seems) something to be glad about.

With a dump of snow that brought a months worth of the white stuff in less than twenty four hours, they'll be wanting to make the best out of their new situation.

So, for those in climates where the hard work will pay off, instructions on how to build your own personal rink of dreams. A skating utopia, the temple of shinny.

From the blueprints to the supply list it's all here, the dimensions, the rate of water supply and the duration of the flood. Everything is provided but the kids to skate in the backyard, that is the domain of the builder.

As they said in Field of Dreams, if you build it, they will come!

Let's see there, snow by mid November! Hmm that should give you what, five months of good skating ahead, enjoy!
