Bad news for Cats everywhere...

I'm not sure that the world needs a mightier mouse, but we now have one.

Scientists have announced the development of genetically modified mice, a creation that has astounded them with their talents.

The New Mighty Mouse is one that is faster, eats as much as it wants without getting fat and apparently has a rather healthy appetite for sex. They're on the prowl for romance right up to the very last days of its life.

And it's a longer life that they prowl through, living longer than those slovenly like regular mice and ready to leave behind a legendary line of heirs, as they can breed seemingly at will and long into their final days too.

When they're on the move, they can run six kilometres at 20 metres a minute. A pace that they can keep up for five hours or more, a marathon mouse which all in all must be bad news for cats.
The Times On Line was kind enough to provide a link to a video of their kinetically modified ways. Have pity on the mouse on the right in the video (identified as the drop out), who must wonder why he/she goes to that gym with the (muscle bound types)

We can only guess that this means that we must now secure our supply of cheese and inform the household cat that there's a change a coming. There's a new mouse out there now, one that won't be diving for the mouse hole at the first sign of trouble.
