Five musical acts have been selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, on March 12. A list that will bring back some fond memories of thoughtful tunes, good time hard headed rock and hair, the early days of rock and roll and more hair, poetic punk and hip hop originals.
REM, Van Halen, Patti Smith, The Ronettes and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five will all share the stage to celebrate their acheivement trailblazers in their particular discipline of the music we've grown up with.
A panel of 600 industry figures selected the five acts to be inducted at the annual ceremony, to be held March 12 in New York. To be eligible, artists must have issued a first single or album at least 25 years before nomination.
Here's a review and preview of some of the acts that reach the rock and roll milestone in the home of rock and roll at Cleveland.
